When a vehicle is moving while being weighed, we have a weighing in motion application. In general a vehicle moves over a small platform scale while the application records each individual axle weight. By adding the individual axle weights a total weight of the vehicle can be determined.
For railcars a complete combination can be pre-programmed, so the application can also verify it is weighing the correct number of axles.
